Bring the Whole Family for Free Concerts at West Point

West Point, located in the Town of Highlands in Orange County, consists of 16,000 acres, including the campus of the U.S. Military Academy, which is also called West Point. This federal military reservation was established in 1802 by President Thomas Jefferson.

Every Sunday from June 17 through September 2, usually at 7:30 pm, The West Point Band will present the Music Under the Stars series with free concerts at the historic Trophy Point Amphitheater.

Some of the highlights include: The Hellcats and Concert Band celebrating the Army’s 237th birthday on June 17; Quintette 7, the band’s high energy group, presenting a fun and interactive Kids Night on July 22 at 6 pm; the Jazz Knights performing music from The Wizard of Oz on June 24; fireworks at the West Point Band’s Independence Day celebration at 8 pm; the Jazz Knights with Dancing Under the Stars, with a free dance lesson on August 5, at 7 pm; and on August 19 a performance of Beatles music.

The West Point Band will close the Music Under the Stars season with the annual 1812 Overture Concert, fireworks and the cannon, on September 2 at 6 pm, (rain date September 3).

Audiences are invited to bring a picnic basket and a blanket, while enjoying first-rate music at one of the most beautiful and historic sites in the country.

Also during the summer months, the West Point Golf Course offers various tournaments to the public, and throughout the year Go Army Sports at West Point features football, hockey, wrestling, and lacrosse.
